Volunteerism ...

Students weigh in and give recognition to Global Youth Service Day, their feedback and thoughts show they are still growing and finding themselves in the world, but the important thing is they are all giving back by volunteering in their communities.

"Consciously or unconsciously,
everyone of us does render some service or other.
If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only our own happiness, but that of the world at large."Gandhi (1869-1948)

The Practice of Collaborative Law

What do lawyers learn in law school?
They learn to win...

What makes Collaborative Lawyers different?
They start - by thinking about how to solve problems.

The Who, What, When, Why and How Collaborative Law works.

Collaborative Lawyers, like Lincoln, 163 years ago, Discourage litigation. They Persuade neighbors to compromise whenever they can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser -- in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker these lawyer's have a superior opportunity of being  good men and women. There will still be business enough.
adapted from--July 1, 1850  Notes for a Law Lecture by Abraham Lincoln

International Connections

International Connections

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all

peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea

that if we try and understand each other, we may even become

friends.
Maya Angelou
